For thirty years now, Casariche has been preparing to enter the summer period with this festivity, the popular Velá De San Antonio. Organised by the residents of Andalucía Street and Alcalde José Ramón Parrado Cano Square, this “fiesta” takes place next to the Casariche Town Hall.

Its celebration coincides with the Saturday closest to the 13th of June. The day of Saint Antonio and its location in Calle Andalucía is no coincidence, since this street was once called San Antonio. In fact, in this street stood the chapel of San Antonio, which was demolished in 1989.

Nowadays, the image of Saint Antonio is moved to its old street, being placed on an altar that the neighbors make for the occasion. Whereas, the celebration is presided over by the image of the Saint throughout the night.
